This book is about
The book tells you about how hard Victorian children worked. They worked in cotton mills, up chimneys, on the streets selling things such as flowers or matches and in the workhouse.
In the workhouse, you were separated from your family, there was only a little food to eat, such as gruel and you had to work hard, such as breaking stones.
Later, the government made laws in England and Wales to improve things for working children.

My favourite part of the book is
Finding out about the sources that the author used in the footnotes on the back page.

This book is about
In the Victorian times for poor people it's hard. Small children get sent to a place called the workhouse. There children get separated from they're family. They do back breaking jobs. Some that live on the streets turn to crime, others preform lots collect valubles and most of them catch stuff like birds to sell on the market.

My favourite part of the book is when they are talking about children on the market because they find ways to make a few pennies.

This book is about
The book is all about little children working hard in the time of Queen Victoria. They have to work in workhouses and do not get much to eat. They do not get to stay with their families.
Some children sell flowers or fruit in the cold or pick pockets.
The children might get hurt or work for not very nice people who make them work for long hours and pay them very little.

My favourite part of the book is
This book was sad because the children have to work hard, so there was not really a favourite part, but it was interesting finding out the types of jobs they had to do that we do not do now like making toys to sell, breaking stones to make gravel for roads, working in sewers and pulling fur from dead animals.
I would also like to say
There is a bit in the book that mentions the story of Oliver Twist, which I have read before.
