This book is about
In 1938, Matti has to leave Berlin in Germany because it is not safe to live there if you are Jewish. He comes to England to live with the Williams family. He wants his Mummy and Daddy to leave Germany and come to live in England too. They can only do this if someone rich lets them come over and be their servants. He meets Lady Dorincourt and makes friends with her. He asks her to fill in some forms to help his Mummy and Daddy to come to England. After Lady Dorincourt becomes ill he persuades her to complete the forms as his Daddy is a doctor and his Mummy is a good cook and they can help Lady Dorincourt by taking care of her.

The main characters are
Matti, Lady Dorincourt, Lily Williams and Jack Williams.

My favourite part of the book is
When Matti joins the school and plays football with the other pupils.

I would also like to say
The book is based on things that are true and really happened to Jewish children in 1938.
