This book is about
There are some children who are clearing a pond with Mrs. Gale their teacher. One of the children, Wesley, falls into the pond and finds a coin. Mrs. Locket comes to take Wesley to her house to clean him up. She tells him she has been unlucky and as a man has stolen her blue, china teapot with her savings in.
The person who stole the money looked like a shark and had black oily hair and pointy teeth. He was nasty. The shark man hangs around the pond to see if the children find the teapot with the money in that he threw in there.
Mrs. Gale sees the shark man and tells him off. He was her pupil when he went to her school. She makes him give the money back to Mrs. Locket and buy her a new teapot.
The main characters are
The pupils (Wesley, Foxy, Jamal and Marietta), the shark man (alias Gordon Fowler), Mrs. Gale the teacher and Mrs. Locket.
My favourite part of the book is
When Mrs. Locket was telling Wesley about how the shark man took her teapot with the money in it.
I would also like to say
I liked when Wesley fell into the pond and found the coin.
