It has been a year like no other – certainly nothing we’ve experienced in our lifetimes at Reading Chest!
As a team we are feeling nostalgic…. looking back at such a challenging year we all feel it is has been the little things that have really mattered.
For us, enjoying a good book has been at the top of our list. Particularly together with our children or passing one of our favourite books on to friends and family. Taking the time to stop and get lost in a story has been such a pleasure!
Our top highlights of 2020 were:
The Great British Beach Clean – This was something most people could take part in even during different tiers of lockdown. The Reading Chest team all got out to their local beaches and got rid of the litter, we hope we inspired some of you to as well.
National Poetry Day – It was a real joy to send out lots of our reading scheme poetry books to you all. The day also encouraged us here to revisit some of our favourite poetry.
Non-Fiction November – We really enjoyed our Non-Fiction November challenge and the Big Book Giveaway. Being able to send some cheer to primary schools by providing quality, interesting reading scheme books from Collins Big Cat, Alphakids, Engage, Treetops, Project X, Bug Club, Floppy’s Phonics, Phonics Bug and Pocket Reads was a real privilege and pleasure. We particularly enjoyed reading your non-fiction books reviews!
We would like to say a huge thank you to each of you, the support from our customers throughout this tricky year has been truly amazing. As we head in to 2021 there is much uncertainty with how it is going to look and particularly how the rest of the school year will look. What we can be sure of is that we will have clean, safe reading scheme books to keep you and your children reading together at home.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!
