CVCC Words List
Our Phonics CVCC word list helps children move beyond simple CVC words and practise blending four-sound words with confidence. These consonant–vowel–consonant–consonant words introduce adjacent consonants at the end (like lamp, hand and milk), strengthening decoding skills and sound awareness.
It’s especially useful for:
- Practising blending with final consonant clusters
- Building accuracy and fluency with longer decodable words
- Supporting spelling through careful segmenting
- Preparing for more complex reading patterns
Use it in short bursts — read down a column, pick five “focus words”, or revisit tricky clusters like nk, nd and mp. Small steps, steady progress.
Available in both colour and black and white versions.
