Goal
Practise letter-sound recognition in a way that feels like a proper Easter egg hunt — because it is one.
You'll need
- Easter Colouring
- Alphabet Picture Flashcards (Both Cases)
- Digraphs & Trigraphs Picture Flashcards
How to do it
Pick a handful of letter or digraph cards — s, a, sh or ch work well. Hide them around the room while your child isn't looking.
When you say go, they hunt. Every card they find, they bring to you and say the sound. If they get it right, it goes in the "found" pile. If not, you say it together and they hide it again for another go.
Colour the Easter sheet together when the hunt's done — a good way to wind down and extend the seasonal feeling. You can make it trickier by mixing in digraphs once they're confident on single letters.
