Goal
Create a reading space that feels like a treat on cold days — because atmosphere genuinely matters when you're trying to build a reading habit.
You'll need
- Winter Colouring
- Bookmark Template
How to do it
Drape blankets over chairs or the sofa to make a proper den. Cushions inside. Hang the winter colouring pages on the walls — clip them up with pegs or tuck them into the blanket folds.
Give your child the bookmark template to decorate before you settle in — snowmen, stars, whatever they fancy. It becomes theirs, and it goes straight into the book.
Get in, get cosy, and read. Hot chocolate optional but recommended. The point is to make reading feel like an event — especially in January and February when everyone needs something to look forward to.
