What's the book about?
Pete really wants to find the perfect job, but every time he tries something new, it goes terribly wrong. Then lots of strange and wonderful animals start turning up at his door, each one needing a home. With help from his friends (and all those peculiar pets), he discovers a job that suits him just right.

This book is about
Pete wanted to be a gardener but he wasn't good at it and he let the slugs eat the cabbages so the slugs followed him home. Other animals followed him home too. The octopus was in the bath, the giraffe was in the bedroom.
