What's the book about?
Everyone is getting ready for school when they suddenly discover that the house keys have gone missing. Mum is rushing around, Roz is upset, and Alec would rather go back to bed, but calm, clever Mae starts to look for clues. By thinking carefully about what happened the day before, she solves the mystery and helps her family get out of the house in time.

This book is about
Mae, Roz, Alec and Mum are getting ready to go to school, but Mum can't find her keys. Roz starts to whine about not being able to feed the class pets if she is late for school.
Mae has an idea. She asks her Mum when she last saw her keys. It was the day before when Roz needed the toilet and ran into the house first with the keys. Roz went to the toilet and then she took the keys to the attic where she was drawing a picture.
Roz is sent to the attic and finds the keys there.
