What's the book about?

Cal is worried when his dad decides to get fit by taking belly-dancing classes, and he’s sure it will be totally embarrassing. As his dad gets braver and even plans to dance at school, Cal dreads what his friends will think. But when the big performance finally happens, Cal starts to see his dad—and himself—in a new, happier way.

This book is about
Cal is met by his Dad when he comes out of school. Cal does not feel good about this, because his Dad is big. When they are walking home, Dad sees a notice about belly dancing classes. Cal's Dad decides to go to the classes. After the class, Cal's Dad comes home, walks into the kitchen and does belly dancing. Cal is horrified! One day, Dad rushes home from the belly dancing class and says he will be in the assembly at Cal's school doing belly dancing on Friday. Cal feels embarrassed. At the assembly, the belly dancers dance including Cal's Dad. Cal's Dad gets Mrs. Phillips, the head teacher, to dance too. Then the other teachers and pupils join in.

The main characters are
Cal, Cal's Dad and Mum and Mrs. Philips.

My favourite part of the book is
When Cal's Mum pushes him out of the front door and makes him go to school on the day of the assembly.

I would also like to say
I know why Cal didn't want to go to school on the day of the assembly. It was because he didn't want to see his Dad dancing in the assembly, as thought it would be horrifying.
