What's the book about?
A famous writer’s brand-new mystery story has suddenly gone missing, and a rather muddled detective is called in to solve the case. He searches for clues all around the house, making a few funny mistakes and even blaming the wrong people along the way. At last he pieces the clues together, uncovers the real thief, and makes sure the lost story is safely returned.

This book is about
Rita Romero had lost her floppy disk with her story about The Mystery of the Sinking Ship. Violet Snippy was about to visit her to interview her for the local newspaper.
Detective Fogtop found an ostrich tail clue, but it was really a feather duster. Then he found a tiny shovel clue, but it belonged to Mr. Weed, the gardener.
Detective Fogtop found a chewed pencil with lipstick that belonged to Violet Snippy. Violet Snippy grabbed the pencil and accidentally ripped her paper bag that she was carrying. Sheets of paper and a floppy disk fell out of the bag. They were Rita Romero's story.
The main characters are
Detective Fogtop, Rita Romero, Maria and Violet Snippy.
My favourite part of the book is
When Detective Fogtop finds Violet Snippy's chewed pencil.
