This book is about
This book is about different people who made good decisions and thought about how to be saved if they were lost or in danger.
One of the men was Alexander Selkirk. He decided to leave his men and his boat and made a hut out of trees to live in on an island.
Another man who was famous for survival was Ernest Shackleton. He saved his men by taking them from Elephant Island to South Georgia to get help from the fishermen there.
Captain William Bligh was tied up with rope and put in a boat with 18 shipmates. They were only given a little food and water. They lost weight and looked like skeletons, but Captain Bligh navigated them to safety.
The main characters are
Ernest Shackleton, Captain William Bligh and Alexander Selkirk.
My favourite part of the book is
When Chris Joyce tells us about a computer game called the Worst Journey in the World. It is where you have to travel from Elephant Island to South Georgia without going near hazards. It is based on Ernest Shackleton's journey.
I would also like to say
I especially liked what was said about Alexander Selkirk because it was a clever idea to build a hut from trees.
