Stevie and his family move into a new house and find a big black dog waiting for them, who soon becomes Stevie’s very own pet. Stevie is thrilled, but the dog has a strange and scary secret from the past. As Stevie uncovers the truth, he must decide whether to be brave and loyal to his new friend, even when things start to get dangerous.

This book is about
There is a boy called Stevie who gets a dog called Black Dan. This dog is no ordinary dog. He is a greyhound that was good at racing.
One day when Stevie is sleeping he wakes up when he hears some howling noises and looks out of the window. He sees fiery eyes.
The next day, Stevie and Black Dan go out to the forest. Stevie is chased by ghost greyhounds. He enters a lead mine and is almost killed, except his Black Dan rescues him.
The main characters are
Stevie and Black Dan.
My favourite part of the book is
When Black Dan tries to escape from the house to go to the forest.
I would also like to say
The author has a good imagination.
