What's the book about?

When he makes a daring escape, the children have to think fast and work together to get him back safely. This book is about
Sam and Clare go to visit their Gran and Grandad. They take their hamster, Hampers, with them. The children are not allowed to let Hampers out of the cage, because Grandad says it will frighten Gran. Sam and Clare make an adventure playground for Hampers and attach it to his cage. During lunch, Hampers bites through one of the cardboard boxes (that has been used to build the adventure playground) and gets free. Sam and Clare find Hampers down a hole near the radiator and call Grandad to help rescue him. When Grandad sees him, he climbs onto a chair because he is scared.

The main characters are
Hampers, Grandad, Clare and Sam.

My favourite part of the book is
When Grandad is scared of Hampers and climbs onto the chair.

I would also like to say
There is a bit about the author at the back of the book, who once took the school hamster home and lost it in a whole in the wall.
