What's the Book About?

On a school trip to a creaky old mill, Martin and Katie hear a spooky story about the miller’s wife, who used to keep everything bright, shiny, and clean. Strange sounds, funny smells and mysteriously tidy rooms make them wonder if a ghost might still be looking after the place. Together, they decide to become brave ghost-hunters and discover what’s really going on in the mill.

This book is about
Miss Jackson's class go to a mill. At night, Katie is scared of the sounds in the old mill. She thinks there is a ghost. Also, there is a smell of malt. (Malt was stored in the mill long ago). Martin's room is tidied and polished, but he hasn't done it. He thinks it is a ghost. At the end, we find out that Joe who looks after the youth hostel (mill) may have been the 'ghost' who has been tidying and the smell of malt is from a malted milk drink.

The main characters are
Katie, Martin, Marge, Joe and Miss Jackson.

My favourite part of the book is
When the class hear the story of the miller's wife.

I would also like to say
I think Martin and Katie's idea to find out who the ghost is by ghost hunting was good.
