What's the book about?

Sailing home from a long war, a clever hero and his crew must face a one-eyed giant, angry sea gods, and singing monsters who try to lure their ship onto the rocks. Along the way they battle fierce storms, scorching heat, and a huge whirlpool that could swallow them whole. All the while, the hero dreams of returning to his island home, where he hopes his family is still waiting for him.
