The Summer Explorers
What's the book about?
Three families go on holiday together, and the children have fun exploring the beach with a metal detector to see what hidden treasure they can find. When they discover an old lantern and take it back to their holiday house, strange and exciting things start to happen. One night, as they play cards and the lantern glows, a spooky bat flies in at the window and sends everyone on a thrilling chase around the room.

This book is about
The children are using a metal detector to find metal things at the beach.
When they find a lantern, they take it to the cottage and clean it. They put a candle in it and put it on the windowsill.
While playing cards, a bat arrives at the window and comes into the cottage. The children search the room for it. When they find it, they help it to escape.
The main characters are
Rico, Eden, Miranda, Sofia and George.
My favourite part of the book is
When the lantern is glowing in the dark.
