What's the book about?

Class 4 gets a brand-new teacher who looks just like a real pirate, with a black eye patch and a curly beard, and suddenly school becomes much more exciting. While the children are having fun with pirate games and treasure maps, the headteacher worries that this unusual teacher might not be right for the school. When a hidden treasure chest is discovered that can help fix up the school, the class must prove that their pirate teacher deserves to stay.

This book is about
Class 4 has a new teacher called Captain Blackbones who was a pirate. He lets the class play at being pirates in the swimming pool. Miss Lupin, the Headteacher, asks Blackbones to leave the school by next week. At the school fair, Blackbones and Class 4 sell treasure maps. A treasure chest of jewels is found that helps to pay to repair the school and get a new games field. Blackbones is allowed to stay at the school and teach sailing.

The main characters are
Captain Blackbones, Miss Lupin and Class 4.

My favourite part of the book is
When the pupils overhear what the Headteacher is saying.
